Preorder my book Sweets on a Stick: 150 kid friendly recipes for cakes, candies, cookies and Pies on the Go!

Yay! Someone told me yesterday they saw my book for preorder (Thanks Miss M)on one of the big sites so I popped in to have a look and they were right.

So as though I had nothing better to do I popped into all the online book sites and guess what nearly all of them had it listed........

Here it is at Amazon

and for those in Australia and New Zealand who like to buy from Fishpond.....

Sweets on a Stick: 150 Kid-Friendly Recipes for Cakes, Candies, Cookies, and Pies on the Go!

and I also spied it over at book depository, borders and a stack of other places.

Then I spent time on the phone with my mum giggling about the little author blurb which is all true but just funny to read on Amazon about yourself.

Remember if your outside of the US this book is a US release with weights and measurements accordingly, although there is a conversion table in the back.

OK today I promise to spend my time better and get some photo's of the cutest new cake pops I made.

Pretty pink flower musk cake pops

One of the great things about cake pops is that you can do anything with them.

Really pretty much anything with a bit of imagination, so many options for decorating and flavor combination.

These are some pops I whipped up last year for a pretty photo shoot and then promptly lost the notes I had written. That happens a bit to me, I'm not really super organised.

But luckily for me I found the measurements I had scrawled on the back of someone's business card a few days ago.

The cake was a dryish cake and the buttercream quite firm so your ratio's might need to change a little depending on what types you are using. For example if you have a moist cake use a little bit less buttercream.

The buttercream I had leftover when I made these was already coloured purple which was great luck, I probably would have made it pink but I think the purple contrast with the pink chocolate was lovely.

Ummm I'm not sure exactly how many this makes but it wasn't a huge batch I guess this post is more about encouraging you to experiment with your favourite flavors.

Go on get to it :)

Dessert plate on a skewer, macaron, cupcake and cake pops sticks

Found some pics from a couple of months back of some dessert skewers I made for a competition.

I didn't win........I know my mum thought I should have as well, but there are so many talented people around that that's the way the cookie crumbles, and there were some lovely entries with really great styling.

They did pop my pictures up on the blog so I was happy to see them up there.

These skewers were made from mini cupcakes wrapped in marshmallow ribbon fondant, oreo truffle cookie pops decorated with a fondant daisy and a lemon buttercream macaron.

The recipe for the individual portions are mostly already on the blog:

Oh and I did a pink version as well, chocolate buttercake with rose vanilla Italian buttercream topped with a raspberry, raspberry macaron and tim tam truffle cookie pop. Yummo!

and yes I do have some Christmas stuff planned soon, I promise, in fact tomorrow I have the day blocked off for a bit of baking.
